Reshoring FAQs

01. What is the purpose of reshoring?

Reshoring is used to provide temporary support to a concrete structure after the initial shoring has been removed. Its primary purpose is to redistribute loads safely while the concrete continues to cure and gain its full design strength. By preventing overloading on lower levels or partially cured concrete, reshoring ensures structural stability during critical stages of construction.

02. What is the difference between shoring and reshoring?

The difference between shoring and reshoring lies in their function. Shoring is installed before the pouring of concrete to support its weight and maintain stability until the material gains enough strength to stand independently. Reshoring, on the other hand, is installed on one or more floors below the shoring to provide additional support as the concrete continues curing.
